Francesca Trasarti is an Italian graduate specializing in cultural mediation within the migration sector, with expertise in the languages, societies and healing systems of South Asia, particularly India and Bangladesh. She graduated at La Sapienza University of Rome, at Heidelberg University, and at Guglielmo Marconi University of Rome. By completing the MAHASSA programme and through her experience of conducting ethnographic research and fieldwork in Bangladesh, she realised how important it was for her to work in intercultural contexts. She was a migrant counseling and social work assistant, cultural mediator and teacher at AWO Hessen-Süd, by also leading an empowering multi-didactic course for a group of migrant women. Back in Rome, she worked at the social cooperative Programma Integra as a social operator in a reception center for unaccompanied foreign minors. Her goal is to work on researching, developing, and implementing national and international collaboration strategies to contribute to the integration processes of migrant populations, enhance diversities, and garantee human rights.
